It contains all the materials you will need to make a 16” cushion - including wadding and backing, as well as printed instructions and the butterfly template.

The butterfly is appliqued piece by piece onto the white background fabric. This can be done using the hand sewn needleturn method, but actually it can be appliqued on using any method you like - even machine applique would look good!
